Mohs
Micrographic Surgery
Mohs micrographic surgery is state-of-the-art treatment for skin
cancer in which the physician serves as surgeon, pathologist and
reconstructive surgeon. It relies on the precision and accuracy
of a microscope to trace and ensure removal of skin cancer down
to its roots.
Properly trained Mohs surgeons have completed a 1
to 2 year surgical fellowship approved by the American College of Mohs Surgery (ACMS). Look for
this symbol and ask your surgeon if he/she is a fellow of the ACMS.
